Teeth whitening without heat or laser is safer than with it. However, the effect of using this technology will not be so impressive: not 8–12, but 6–10 tones. Stages of the procedure

Preparation
Whitening is preceded by a preparatory stage, which is aimed at eliminating obstacles to the procedure and ensuring the proper result. Mandatory includes an examination of the oral cavity and diagnostics. If necessary, the following is prescribed:

Contraindications
Beyond Polus technology is safe for enamel, but some patients should refrain from whitening procedures, not only with this system
Among the absolute contraindications:
- age up to 16 years
- allergy to the components of the drug
- period of pregnancy or lactation in women
- serious health problems (malignant neoplasms, pathologies of the circulatory, cardiovascular, immune systems)
Relative restrictions that need to be corrected before the whitening procedure include:

How to prolong the whitening effect
On average, after bleaching Beyond Polus, enamel remains white for one year. However, this indicator depends on subsequent oral care and compliance with specialist recommendations:
- during the first 3-4 hours after the session you cannot eat;
- It is advisable not to smoke for a day;
- women should refrain from applying bright lipstick to their lips for three days;
- for two weeks, exclude foods that can stain the enamel - chocolate, coffee, wine, beets, carrots, carbonated drinks;

Whitening dental strips
Whitening strips are one of the most affordable products that can be purchased at any pharmacy. At their core, these are narrow strips of polyethylene, with a layer of brightening composition applied to the inside, in which the main active component will be hydrogen peroxide with a content of up to 10%. The strips are sold in sets, which contain separate stickers for the upper and lower dentition.
There is nothing complicated in using the product: just attach the strips to the outside of the teeth and leave for half an hour. During this time, the brightening substance will begin to act, triggering chemical reactions in the enamel coating that will gradually destroy the colored pigments. Strips are used for teeth whitening in a course, the average duration of which can be up to 14 days. It is advisable to use the stickers twice a day - in the morning and in the evening, so the positive effect will come much faster.
If you believe the reviews of the strips from people who have tried them from personal experience, then there is no particularly pronounced whitening effect from their use, but there is a high probability of encountering negative side effects, among which buyers of the product mention burns and inflammation of the gums, increased sensitivity of teeth to to various external stimuli.
Alternative whitening systems
Our Center uses another safe teeth lightening technology - Amazing White, also from an American manufacturer. Like Beyond Polus, cold whitening technology is used. But Amazing White uses a gel with a lower concentration of the active substance - 16%. The lightening intensity is correspondingly lower - by 3-6 tones. Since our Center specializes in implantation and surgery, this system is ideal for teeth whitening even in the postoperative period without irritating the mucous membranes. Suitable when you want to get an immediate aesthetic effect soon after surgery.
We do not use the advertised Zoom technology, despite the same effectiveness as Beyond Polus. The system is not safe for tooth enamel. The technology is based on a gel with a peroxide concentration of 25% and a UV lamp with thermal radiation. Overheating of the enamel-dentin layer is possible, which is accompanied by prolonged increased sensitivity of the teeth. In addition, preparation for the procedure requires special scrupulousness in order to protect the mucous membranes from burns and prevent unnecessary tanning around the lips.
LED lamp and its advantages
The main advantage of using LED lamps for teeth whitening is that there is no threat to the patient’s health. This method has passed all tests and is considered one of the safest. The rays that are reproduced by the lamp pass through a special filter, the task of which is to neutralize the harmful effects of infrared waves and ultraviolet radiation. Thus, the enamel surface is exposed to a temperature no higher than 37.6ºC. In addition, other advantages of this procedure can be noted:
- Short time for the whitening procedure.
- The ability to get the desired result the first time.
- The gel used contains components that help reduce sensitivity to the procedure.
- The effectiveness of the system makes it possible to eliminate defects such as age-related darkening and darkening caused by fluorosis.
The disadvantage of the teeth whitening procedure with an LED lamp can be considered the cost of the session, the price of which varies between 7,000 and 20,000 rubles and a large list of contraindications.
